By public transport: 

There is a bus service and taxis available from Guildford railway station. For those coming from Bristol/SW England, the easiest route is to change trains at Reading and get a FirstGreatWestern train to Guildford (destination Gatwick airport). This is quicker and cheaper than going into London and coming back out again.
