AWSELFA Online Webinar: A framework to refocus the conversation around the welfare of UK purebred cats

We are delighted to share some exciting news — AWSELFA is hosting its first webinar of the year on Monday 16 March at 7.30pm (GMT). This is the first in a series of four webinars that AWSELFA will be hosting during 2026.

AWSELFA are pleased to welcome Dr Claire Roberts, feline welfare researcher at Cats Protection, who will present her latest research on the welfare of pedigree cats in the UK. This promises to be a fascinating and thought-provoking session, with valuable insight into current welfare challenges and the evidence shaping future improvements.

Find out more about Dr Claire Roberts:

Claire completed a degree in Zoology at the University of Reading and a Masters in Animal Behaviour at the University of Exeter before attending the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies where she qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2012. Claire worked in mixed and small animal veterinary practice until becoming the Feline Scholar at the University of Bristol, where she went on to complete her PhD on the implementation of quality of life assessments of dogs in veterinary practice. Claire worked at PDSA before joining Cats Protection in 2023, where she is currently focused on population studies.
