The University’s Institute of Veterinary Science has celebrated the official unveiling of its new equine CT scanner.
Approximately 70 guests joined the President of University Council, Lord Derby on Monday for an exclusive event at the Leahurst campus.
Adapted from human use, the CT machine has been installed over the summer of this year at the Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital and is the country’s only large bore, sliding gantry CT system. The installation marks £750,000 investment into the hospital, enhancing the safety and precision techniques for scanning large animals and ensuring accurate prognosis.
