About the conference:
Human wellbeing and animal wellbeing are deeply connected. When people struggle with their mental health, their circumstances, or the demands of caring, the animals in their lives are often affected too. Yet these links are frequently overlooked, falling into the gaps between human health services, veterinary practice and welfare enforcement.
This one-day conference brings together speakers from across veterinary medicine, welfare science, mental health, law and frontline practice to examine the human–animal wellbeing connection. Together we will explore what the evidence tells us, what it means for those working with animals and their owners, and how a more joined-up approach could improve outcomes for people and animals alike.
